A study of the development of the first nursing home in Denmark targeting older immigrants.
In 2016, the EGV Foundation and the Copenhagen City Council finished a three-year research project at Peder Lykke Centret which received funding from Copenhagen City Council to develop a diversity profile in order to create attractive nursing home care for persons of different ethnic backgrounds.
The process was followed by research consultant Anne Leonora Blaakilde, director of the EGV Foundation Christine E. Swane, and educational consultant Eva Algreen-Petersen from the Copenhagen City Council. Through action research, interviews and observations they documented the complex experiences among incoming and present residents, relatives and staff from 2013 to 2016.
A research report has been published in Danish. The report describes the total pool of experience gathered at this particular nursing home and its potentials.
