Issues and challenges in the lives of Pakistani elderly single women.

Research project by associate professor Rubya Mehdi, Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies, University of Copenhagen.

The purpose is to study the daily lives of Pakistani elderly single women in Denmark. By means of qualitative interviews, the study examines several issues such as gender, culture, identity and old age. 
 
The project focuses on the following categories of older Pakistani women:

• Single, older women
• Divorced, older women
• Older women who have lost their spouse/partner

The results will be published in the form of a book in English and an article in Danish.
